The Need to Recycle

We Must Control What We Can...

And that means take care of our own! I was walking my dog (Shoutout to Change GonCome!) around the corner the other day and filled up a large kitchen bag and several other little plastic bags with recyclables like plastics, glass and aluminum in about fifteen minutes. This is especially sickening because less than two days later it was back to the sad state I just cleaned! Look as residents in a community we may not be able to get things to change as fast and to the quality we want them to but if we don't take care of home who will?

Parents, teach your children not to litter in the community. That means in your or anybody's community...because it's not the right thing to do!

It makes no sense that a major city like Philadelphia has no city-wide plastics recycling program (especially considering the fact that a majority of products we use everyday come only in plastic casing these days) but until then there are neighborhoods that do recycle them and if you don't want a eye sore for a community I ask that you do some research to find them! If we want our children to respect where they grow up then it starts with the grown ups.

Get organized and start a recycling group in your neighborhoods, jobs and with family/friends. We can wait for other people to help with the process because by the time they want to help it's often too late!

Complain to your leaders in the community about this issue. This especially needs to happen when you have businesses who sell products to the community but can't pick up a broom and sweep outside their store property! Part of being a business owners is being a concerne
